Bathroom Trends 2016

ALL POSTS

In the past we have been conservative with our bathrooms, but we are happy to find that 2016 is all about flaunting the powder room! It can be a costly investment, so if you need some inspiration, check out what 2016 has to offer

1. Black and White

Talk about a power couple, balance them well and you simply can’t go wrong! It goes without saying that black and white complement each other perfectly and create the ultimate contrasting combination. Don’t be afraid to be bold for a more dramatic feel. We love how this black basin demands attention, while the marble background helps to make things a little more romantic.

2. Timber

Add a touch of timber to soften harsher finishes and create a striking look! Greys are still big in 2016, so a simple timber vanity can help to add a touch of warmth and create a more inviting feel. We love the idea of using Timber instead of the traditional bathroom tile, and it easily becomes a beautiful, natural contrast against traditional bathroom products. Keep an eye out for bathroom friendly timbers.

3. Funky Fittings

Interesting fittings can literally change the style and look of your whole bathroom. We are in love with these aged brass fittings, especially when they are teamed with a great feature tile like this one. Taking the fittings right to the ceiling not only creates a focal point, but elongates the space. They create a beautiful contrast against a simple vanity. Add a black tap to a marble vanity and watch it pop! Golds create a more romantic feel and gives the illusion of opulence. Look out for black, brass, copper and rose gold fittings this year.

4. Round Mirrors

We are embracing everything organic, so it’s only logical we spread this feel to the bathroom as well. It gives an open and expansive feel to a room, and can help to add a touch of softness in a harsh space. Round mirrors are a great balance centred above a vanity, or as used in the space below to create a more open feel.

5. Pretty in Pink

Nothing says powder room like a splash of pink, and cleverly teaming it with some earthy tones like these ones, take it from girly to chic. The gold finishes create a perfectly elegant space and luxurious feel. You will be seeing this hue a lot more in 2016, as Pantone has crowned ‘Rose Quartz’ its colour of the year.
